Statement

The elderly prefer to stay in their own private home with the reason of feeling more comfortable and familiar with their environment. Even though many of the elderly have experienced a decrease in functional status, the only consolation is for them to be number 1 when it comes to care.

It is very common for the aging population to feel depressed due to many losses they have encountered in their lives and for this reason they usually prefer to stay in their own home for as long as they can.
